Christmas is often called the most wonderful time of the year. But why? What makes Christmas so…wonderful? Christmas often gets associated with presents, decorations, stress, shopping malls, and family. While most of those things are well and good, Christmas is wonderful because it’s all about Jesus. That’s why we celebrate Advent. The word “advent” means coming. During Jesus’s first advent, He came to earth, born to a virgin teenager, God in the flesh, to dwell among us, to pay for our sins. Jesus rose again to give us new life and returned to the Father’s side in Heaven.
We celebrate Advent to remind us of Christ’s first coming as we anticipate His Second Coming. During the month of December, join us as we turn our eyes to Christ, as we reclaim Christmas as an opportunity to live out our Gospel Rhythms together and with our neighbors. Advent/Christmas season gives us the chance to Celebrate, Eat together, look for ways to Bless and Listen to others, ReCreate and have fun together, but most importantly remember the Story of Christ that shapes all of us. Join us as we look at what makes this the most wonderful time of the year.
