Ardent Church desires to be led by a plurality of elders. These men have beencalled by God and have met the qualifications in Titus 1 and 1 1 Timothy 3 to lead and shepherd the church and it's members to pursue God's direction in living out the Gospel in community and on mission.

Steven Castello, Lead Pastor
Steven graduated from Samford University in 2004 with a degree in Family Studies. After spending several years working as a youth pastor, Steven and his wife, Amy, felt called to come back to Birmingham to plant Ardent Church. Steven and Amy have 3 daughters, Lily, Addi, and Karis. Steven's desire for Ardent Church is that we would be a people who exalt Jesus in all we do, live lives of Gospel intentionality and serve the people within our context as Christ would. He has been assessed and approved to plant Ardent Church by the Acts 29 Church Planting Network and is the Candidate phase of assessment. Some of his favorite authors are John Piper, Charles Spurgeon, C.S. Lewis, J.I.Packer and Mark Driscoll.
